This is a so-called Focus Free or Toy
Camera, a Topico. It's a quite common model which exists in different
colours, also in fun colours like this one, but most are black. It's a
basic plastic camera with few features, a flash, a panorama switch and the lens
protection.
Its
main features are:
Wide
angle plastic lens, focus free
Shutter
~ 1/100
Double exposure prevention, panorama switch, lens protection, flash
Size 120 x 68 x 42, Weight 109 gr.
Camera with box and instructions.
Camera closed. You have to turn the yellow ring to open and turn further for flash.
Camera front. Protection open
Camera back. Viewer and film advance. Panorama switch and flash ready
lamp. Film type window. To the right: battery compartment. Takes 2 AAA
batteries, a bit fiddly to insert as the compartment was probably made
for 2 AA batteries and has an insert to reduce the size.
Camera top. Film rewind, rewind release, engages when pressed. Shutter release and film counter. Maybe the camera was a give-away for a company.
Camera bottom. Nothing to see.
Film compartment. Note the curved film plane, it helps against the vignetting
of the simple plastic lens. Film plane
with panorama blinds switched in. There are blinds in the viewer as well.
These
are
the ultimate basics of a camera, focus free, single shutter speed and
fixed aperture. Point and shoot only. If you choose the right film, ISO
400 in general and ISO 200 on very sunny days, you can shoot outside
photos that look OK. The rest will be "Lomo" style, but you can use flash for interior
photos.
